CaixaBank has enabled its ATMs to refund change from bill payments via Bizum.
CaixaBank has enabled its ATMs to refund change from bill payments via Bizum.
Imagine you are paying a fine or taxes in cash at an ATM, you insert the bills, but the amount is not exact. Instead of receiving the change in coins, you can now receive it directly on your mobile through Bizum. This advancement not only simplifies the process but also reduces the need to handle cash.
This is possible at the more than 11,000 CaixaBank ATMs in Spain, as the entity has implemented an innovative functionality in its ATM network, available to both customers and non-customers, providing greater convenience and efficiency.
In addition to this new functionality, CaixaBank has also enabled its ATMs to accept cash payments for bills, taxes, fees, and fines, a service that until now could only be done via card.
Cash payments can be made with bills ranging from 5 to 200 euros for amounts worth less than 995 euros.
The user simply enters the bill’s details or scans the barcode printed on the payment document to start the process and then inserts the cash. If the amount is not exact, the change is returned to the user via Bizum to the provided mobile number.
This service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the entire CaixaBank ATM network. This way, it facilitates the payment of bills, taxes, fees, and fines without any time restrictions. For those who prefer a personal service, CaixaBank will maintain cash payments through the counter, attended by a manager, during office hours for the entity's customers. Non-customers can also pay at the counter, but during the hours enabled for this service: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
With these innovations, not only is user experience improved, but the entity also reaffirms its commitment to accessibility and financial inclusion, adapting to the needs of all its customers.
