  • The bank is partnering with ePay, the world leader in prepaid product sales, to offer cards via Línea Abierta and the MoneyToPay website.

MoneyToPay, CaixaBank's prepaid firm which specialises in electronic money and  prepaid cards, has reached an agreement with ePay, the world's biggest prepaid product distributor of digital content and gift cards.

The deal sees become the first online distributor of electronic content codes and cards for the world's leading brands. It is also the first bank to offer this service, which will begin with the sale of Spotify, Xbox and SonyPlayStation cards.

Users will be able to buy these products online via two channels: the MoneyToPay website and the online channel, Línea Abierta.

For MoneyToPay the tie up with ePay sees it diversify its product portfolio to include prepaid cards specialising in digital content. Furthermore, because this represents a partnership with the international leader in electronic payments, there will be multiple opportunities for synergies as the two jointly develop the prepaid market in Spain.

Meanwhile, the distribution of electronic products is coherent with the innovation-minded approach shared by the entire  Group. In fact, 15% of purchases made by CaixaBank customers are online. A total of 3.15 million customers made use of electronic commerce in 2013.
