CaixaBank Private Banking received three awards at the latest edition of the Global Private Banking Awards by British magazine Euromoney, which celebrates excellence and best practices in international private banking. Firstly, and for the third consecutive year, CaixaBank has been awarded the highest national distinction, being re-elected as the ‘Best Private Bank in Spain’.
CaixaBank Private Banking also received two further awards at the gala held in London: ‘Best Private Bank in Spain for UHNW Clients 2025’ and ‘Best Private Bank in Spain for Family Office Services 2025’, accolades that CaixaBank has received for the second year in a row. Meanwhile, BPI, a CaixaBank subsidiary, won four awards in Portugal. This brings CaixaBank Group’s total number of awards to seven —its highest tally in these international awards, which have a history spanning over 20 years.
These distinctions reinforce the CaixaBank Group’s position as the benchmark private bank in the Iberian Peninsula and are the result of the trajectory of a model built on customer-focused advisory and support through an extensive range of exclusive and innovative products and services designed to meet their needs at all times.
Belén Martín, Head of Private Banking at CaixaBank, stated: “These awards are a recognition of a long-standing history of success and a unique private banking model in Spain, based on the utmost specialisation of our managers with the aim of providing our clients with the best service at all times. These recognitions are made possible by the dedication and professionalism of our entire team, and we want to dedicate them to all our clients, who help us to keep improving day by day”.
Recognition of commitment to independent advisory services
The award for ‘Best Private Bank in Spain for UHNW Clients 2025’ acknowledges CaixaBank’s commitment to independent advisory services, a sector in which CaixaBank Private Banking leads in Spain. The entity has integrated its two specialised areas for UHNW clients into its new Independent Advisory division: ‘Independent Advisory’, catering to clients with assets between one and four million euros, and ‘Wealth,’ aimed at clients with over four million euros. CaixaBank Private Banking’s Independent Advisory service reached €20 billion in assets under management as of February—a 43% increase from a year ago (January 2024)—solidifying the entity’s leadership and benchmark status in independent advisory services in Spain. The new division, which encompasses all of the entity’s independent advisory services, manages over €47 billion in assets (end of 2024).
In 2024, CaixaBank Private Banking boosted services for UHNW clients with the launch of a new investment management platform, GPS (Global Portfolio Strategy), which integrates BlackRock’s Aladdin Wealth™ technology, enabling managers to offer, at no extra cost for UHNW clients, the new Advisory GPS service, which combines portfolio construction efficiency with maximum personalisation, offering clients an advanced advisory experience.
As for the award for ‘Best Private Bank in Spain for Family Office Services 2025’, received for the second consecutive year, the British magazine recognises the innovation and excellence of CaixaBank’s subsidiary OpenWealth, a pioneering independent global consultancy service in Spain aimed at clients with assets exceeding €50 million. OpenWealth has surpassed €8 billion in assets under supervision, making it not only the largest wealth consultancy for UHNW clients, but also the largest multifamily office service in Spain. OpenWealth operates offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, and Málaga.
CaixaBank was the first bank in Europe to launch this fully independent and explicitly fee-based service, available to UHNW individuals regardless of whether or not they are CaixaBank clients or where their assets are deposited, even if held with other entities.
