InverCaixa assets held in funds grow to 19.7 billion euro thanks to its sales team and recent incorporations

The firm's assets have grown by more than 4.9 billion euro

  • CaixaBank's fund management firm, with a market share of 14.15% (according to preliminary August figures), recorded net asset inflows of around 2 billion up to August. InverCaixa has more market investors than any other fund management firm, with around 720,000.
  • The Elección range, based on the mixed fund or portfolio of funds format, has been a particular success. These funds adjust to each customer's requirements and attracted net capital inflows of over 525 million euro in 2013, with assets now in excess of 1.65 billion.

The assets held in investment funds by InverCaixa, CaixaBank's fund management firm, reached a total of 19.7 billion euro, according to figures from Inverco as per 31 August, thanks to its sales expertise and the incorporation of Banca Cívica Gestión de Activos and 16 funds from Banco de Valencia.

InverCaixa has recorded powerful growth in recent years, consolidating its position as the third largest management firm in the Spanish market. It's market share has grown from 6.91% in 2008 to 14.15% at present.

Growth in 2013

Up to August, InverCaixa recorded net capital inflows of close to 2 billion euro, seeing its assets grow by more than 4.9 billion thanks to new funds such as FonCaixa Rentas 2016 (optimizing tax savings for customers) and FonCaixa Garantía Renta Fija 2017. Growth also came from the range of funds that has had the most commercial success, the Elección range, based on the mixed fund or portfolio of funds format and with three different risk profiles (Balance, Growth and Opportunity). The Elección range provides comprehensive management and adjusts to each customer's needs. It recorded net inflows in excess of 525 million euro in 2013 and has total assets of 1.65 billion euro. Growth was also driven by the incorporation of funds from Banca Cívica and Banco de Valencia.

In 2013 InverCaixa's assets held in investment funds have grown by 33%. It now has more market investors than any other management firm, with close to 720,000 investors. This asset growth was driven by the expertise of sales staff at CaixaBank branches and the management, suitability and quality of the funds that they sell.

A diversified range of funds on offer from InverCaixa

InverCaixa offers a wide range of funds that adapt to the needs of each customer type. The firm continues to show a preference for actively managed funds in both fixed income and equity markets, as well as asset allocation and passively managed funds, particularly target funds, made up of portfolios with strong credit quality and that generate returns via mandatory redemptions, funds with accumulated yield to maturity and those pegged to stock market indices or baskets of shares.

Standout funds

FonCaixa Rentas 2016 currently offer a non-guaranteed target return of between 2.25% and 2.50%, depending on the category, over a term of 3 years.

The yields offered by the Elección range funds also stand out, as follows based on the category type in 2013:

• FonCaixa Equilibrio:  2.97% / 3.46%
• FonCaixa Crecimiento: 6.53% / 6.74%
• FonCaixa Oportunidad: 10.88% / 11.03%

Likewise, equity funds offer strong yields:

• FonCaixa Dividendo Europa:  13.96% / 14.87%
• FonCaixa Small Caps Euro:  22.52% / 23.50%
• FonCaixa Selección Europa: 10.84% / 11.98%

About InverCaixa

It employs more than 140 personnel and has a dedicated team of 50 fund managers to assess and identify investment opportunities. The firm designs and manages products to meet its customers' yield expectations based on the levels of risk assumed, providing simplicity and transparency.
